Hi.

Welcome to She’s Full of Lit!

Here, we chat about our favorite (and sometimes least favorite) books, share recommendations on everything from what wine pairs best with that work of fiction to facemasks that make your non-fiction read even better, and live our best basic bookworm lives.

Moira

Before I tell this anecdote I want it to be very clear that I’m actively in therapy, so don’t worry. In college I was a dance major and didn’t eat food, but would watch The Barefoot Contessa religiously on the treadmill. I love Ina like I love good olive oil. The spectre that is Jeffrey has appeared!

Jon Hamm, I will never quit you.

I love Mindy Kaling. Kelly Kapoor is my id, the horrifying side of Moira that comes out when starved for attention. I’m so excited for her new teen show on Netflix, and hope that the more diverse cultural representation we’re seeing on streaming services continues!

I very nearly made a case for writing my masters thesis about rap beef (it’s arts administration, c’mon!), and Nicki Minaj coming for Beyonce has me feeling a number of ways. I predict Bey will rise above it.

Anyone want to revisit the Tea Party? Not the Boston one.

Shannon

I have been very into baked potatoes since quarantine started (potatoes last for ages!) so I invite you all to join me.

This list of things the writer misses from her early 20s is quite poignant. I miss having manually updating a shared Google spreadsheet of all the best happy hours in New York, uploading an entire album of photos to Facebook from my digital camera after one party (ok this was college, and I don’t really miss it), and going to donation-based yoga classes.

The best movies on Amazon Prime right now. Because we’ve all been scrolling endlessly through streaming apps trying to find something to watch (just me?).

A super interesting profile on the woman remaking AMC.

Elizabeth

There are a few food bloggers that I have followed religiously for years, and I think can do no wrong. Deb @ Smitten Kitchen is one of those, and I loved this look into how she stocks her pantry.

I may be the last person in the world to read this deep dive on the horror that is Rachel Hollis, but this sent me down an internet rabbit hole earlier this week on her and those that aspire to be here. White women really can be the worst sometimes.

A weird, weird aspect of us all Zooming to stay in touch with our friends is that people are getting a glimpse at our private spaces, and the voyeuristic part of me has loved seeing what books people have — even celebrities!

I love following the royal family, and it’s no secret that Wills & Kate are my favorites. It’s their anniversary this week, and I loved this retrospective of their wedding — did you wake up early to watch it, too?

Another royal story, but who doesn’t love the pomp & circumstance? I loved this retrospective of QEII’s coronation from the perspective of her ladies-in-waiting. The pictures are truly amazing!

This is horrifying: Nannies Tell the Truth about Working during the Coronavirus

I don’t have a blender, but I am seriously considering getting one so that I can make this White Claw slushy. And margaritas.
